This is the top 30 out of 535 varieties shown nationally over the last five years. If you grew just these varieties, you could enter every class except the 'catch all' and species classes. 42- F. magellanica variegata and 109 - F. magellanica tricolourii are the top 2 species but their positions are inflated through being exhibited in the ornamental foliage classes.136 - F. rubra grandiflora is truly the top species. The World Wide Web
For basic information about Scarborough Fuchsia Society (as well as photographs of the Lincoln Fuchsia Festival) and links to the last few editions of our Newsletters) log on to www.fuchsiasforfun.totalserve.co.uk/sdfs.html A lot to type in, so an alternative route is to check out the official B.F.S. Web site www.thebfs.org.uk which is constantly updated to contain all the latest information for fuchsia enthusiasts. A good starting point, giving useful information about the B.F.S. and their Regional Shows and it also provides links to the affiliated societies such as ours by way of a simple click on the Society logo!
Our Mini Show on 31st July.
Ken Pearn from Rotherham Fuchsia Society will be judging our gallant efforts with the mystery cuttings and explain the merits of each offering in turn. Be a good sport, bring yours along! The distribution of the mystery fuchsia cuttings will take place at our 20th March meeting. Make a note now, don't miss out!
