How time flies! Annual Show time upon us again.
We are once again enduring a real mixture of weather, with the odd summery bright sunny spell (the sort of weather many other countries enjoy all summer long) and plenty of the usual dull, overcast days that pass for summer here. We grumble, but the fuchsias do actually prefer it! 
This hopefully means that we can once again look forward to having the Scalby Parish Hall filled to capacity with wonderful fuchsias for our forthcoming Annual Show, something that the Scarborough public and holiday visitors have come to expect from us over the years. 
Every exhibitor, be it the seasoned competitor or the tentative novice, plays his part in supporting the Society in its show case the Annual Show. It is your plants that matter, without them we would not have a show.
The new schedule aimed to facilitate matters for all members and to encourage the relatively inexperienced members of our Society. It is always a big step to participate for the first time, but be brave and go for it, that is after all the way we all started. It is not that many moons ago that our now 'expert' grower David Edmond felt just as apprehensive as you might do now, when tentatively putting his first few plants on the show bench, and look where that has taken him!!
Only when on the bench amongst others can you truly see how you are progressing with your fuchsia growing, and you might well be pleasantly surprised. Go for it. 
The magazine once again contains plenty of useful tips to help you with the last minute preparation for your show plants as well as many interesting articles covering many varied aspects of fuchsia growing. In this respect we are very grateful for the generosity of fellow fuchsia enthusiast who kindly let us reproduce their offerings for you.
